About
Doreen Grieve
Doreen Grieve's work to reconcile science and God grew out of her deep questioning of the reality of God and yet at the same time a desire to have true faith. She is a degreed engineer, an environmental scientist and for years a busy working mom of four children. What is good? Is God real? Are Christian women really supposed to stay home, be subservient, be barefoot and pregnant? Her opportunity to address some of the deepest questions of faith began when she and her husband moved overseas for his work assignments. A few months prior to the news of their assignment she had asked God to show her He was real in terms of science. And in a strange dream she knew she agreed to commit to something new, but she did not know what or when. Then they got news of their move and the door to discovery opened. She found herself living in places that were biblically and spiritual significant and had shockingly different cultures than the U.S. These experiences and the opportunities brought her to biblical teachers, missionaries, amazing people of faith, charitable causes and coincidences that were no longer coincidences, but lessons. She pressed in to learn more, and time and time again God led her to amazing answers to her questions. She now passionately wants others to see their way forward to reconcile science with God, address their own doubts and awaken to seek God, His word, and His plan for their life. She looks forward to helping others build their faith and has several books available for sale on this website.
Marie Bush
Beyond the words, the photographic art of Dr. Marie Bush communicates the wonder and beauty science can show us through her lens. Marie Bush was born in Bangor, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed making snapshots throughout her youth and received her first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 150, when she was twelve. While living in Pennsylvania she earned a BA from Lehigh University and an MD from Thomas Jefferson Medical College. Inspired by the beauty of her natural surroundings after moving to Colorado in 1994, Marie began to take her photography more seriously. She took many workshops with the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the Santa Fe Photography Workshops and Freeman Patterson. Marie is an established fine art photographer in Boulder County, Colorado. She recently retired as an urgent care physician at the Longmont Clinic, Longmont, Colorado. She has won numerous awards and accolades including an international competition held by Nature's Best Photography Magazine and had her work shown at the Smithsonian Natural History museum.Photography is a medium to communicate a love of Nature. Photography leads her into a world of exploration and discovery where she can lose herself in the joys of dream-like moments.Vibrant colors, luscious textures and alluring patterns kindle her passion as well as ours. Abstract compositions reflect the hidden beauty in the color and design of smaller subjects. The subject can appear elusive, especially with water movement, but reflection and unusual camera angles enrich the composition. Her photographs invite viewers to linger, to reflect, to slow down and to open their senses. They are an invitation to look again and to look more deeply, to find what may still be hidden. Each is an opportunity for contemplation and reverie. The God given mysteries and wonders around us, and in us, are not to be dismissed or scoffed at, but to be sought, treasured and folded into us.
