Covenant Six- King David

King David’s Archaeology Site. D V Grieve

God no longer walked the earth with man. He gave us the tools, the skills, the order of the ten commandments. And he continued to wait for His children to grow and learn. His children lived free, no pharaohs, no dictators and a beautiful land. They were lead by a great prophet, Samuel. But as Samuel grew old, and Samuel’s sons were disobedient the people asked for a king, they wanted to be like other nations. This was disappointing and Saul warned them a king would claim their rights, servitude, portions of their harvests and command their work. God gave them what they asked for, first in King Saul. Then a faithful shepherd boy found favor with God and followed God with great love and trust. He grew a mighty kingdom for God. And God gave him a covenant promise that his house and his kingdom would endure forever and your throne will be established forever. (1 Samuel 7:16). And it happened.
